Appointment Requirements (Mobile Grooming)

The Dapper Dog is a mobile grooming service. All grooming is carried out at your property in our fully equipped grooming trailer. Clients must ensure adequate externalities power and water access is available for the full duration of the appointment. If you will not be home, power and water access must be clearly accessible and ready for use.

Prior to your appointment, please advise where the water and power supply points are located. Where possible, this information should be provided with a photo to avoid delays.

If you will not be home during your appointment, you must provide:

• Clear instructions for accessing water and power
• A lock box code or other pre-arranged method of access to your dog

Failure to provide suitable access may result in your appointment being delayed, shortened, or cancelled and fees may apply.

Parking

Clients are responsible for ensuring safe, legal and suitable parking is available for the mobile grooming trailer.

Please advise the preferred parking location prior to your appointment and notify us of any parking restrictions, permits, steep driveways, access limitations, or other issues that may affect parking. Parking must be reasonably close to the property and accessible for a trailer.

If suitable parking is not available on arrival and the groom cannot proceed, a cancellation fee will apply.

Active Groom in Progress – Client Interference

For the safety of your dog and the groomer, clients must not approach, knock on, open, or enter the grooming trailer during an active groom unless invited to do so. Interruptions during grooming may startle the dog and increase the risk of injury.

Failure to comply, including knocking on the trailer, may result in the immediate termination of the groom.

If a groom is terminated due to client interference, the full grooming fee will apply.

Matted / Knotted Coats

Dogs with excessive matting or knots may incur additional charges, and the requested style may not be achievable.

For the comfort and welfare of your dog, we do not brush out severe matting. Matted areas will be clipped or shaved as humanely and safely as possible.

While every care is taken, skin irritation, scratches, or minor cuts may occur due to matting. You acknowledge that The Dapper Dog is not liable for issues arising from coat condition.

Pregnant Dogs

Pregnancy comfort clips are provided at the owner’s request and with owner or veterinary clearance. These services are limited to hygiene and comfort only.

The owner must remain present and assist as required.

We reserve the right to refuse or stop the service at any time if the dog shows signs of stress or if it is deemed unsafe.

Difficult to Groom Dogs

If a dog is difficult to groom due to behaviour, anxiety, coat condition, or tolerance, the desired groom may not be achievable.

Additional charges may apply where extra time is required. We always prioritise your dog’s comfort and safety.

Aggressive or Unsafe Dogs

The Dapper Dog reserves the right to refuse or discontinue the groom of any dog displaying aggressive, unsafe, or highly distressed behaviour that poses a risk to the dog or groomer.

If a groom cannot proceed or is terminated due to aggressive or unsafe behaviour, the full grooming fee will apply, regardless of how much of the groom has been completed.

Fleas

If fleas are detected, a flea rinse will be applied and additional fees will apply.

Anal Gland Expression

The Dapper Dog does not offer anal gland expression. This procedure should only be performed by a licensed veterinarian.

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency and in your absence, you authorise The Dapper Dog to contact the nearest veterinarian and authorise treatment as deemed necessary, at your expense.

Pre-Existing Conditions & Liability (Australian Consumer Law)

The Dapper Dog will take all reasonable care to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of your dog while in our care. You acknowledge that pet grooming involves inherent risks, particularly for dogs that are elderly, anxious, aggressive, matted, or have pre-existing medical or behavioural conditions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Dapper Dog is not liable for injury, illness, escape, loss, or damage arising from:

• Pre-existing conditions
• Stress or anxiety-related reactions
• Coat condition, matting, knots, or skin sensitivity
• Reasonable handling or grooming decisions made in the interest of safety
• Circumstances outside our reasonable control

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law, including the guarantee that services will be provided with due care and skill.

Payment

Payment is required at the time of completion. Payment may be made via cash or credit card.

Cancellation, Failed Appointments & Fees

Credit card details are required at the time of booking and are securely stored via Stripe.

$50 Cancellation / Failed Appointment Fee

A $50 fee will apply if:

You cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment

We attend your property and are unable to complete the groom due to
circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

• Owner not home and no access to the dog
• Inaccessible or unavailable power or water
• Dog not available, not secured, or unable to be handled
• Unsafe, illegal, or unavailable parking

Full Grooming Fee Applies

The full grooming fee will apply if:

• The groom cannot proceed or is terminated due to aggressive or unsafe behaviour
• The groom is terminated due to client interference, including knocking on or approaching the grooming trailer during an active groom

Fees apply regardless of how much of the groom has been completed. Please notify us as soon as possible on 0404 395 366 if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment.

General Liability

While every reasonable precaution is taken, grooming involves inherent risks. By booking with The Dapper Dog, you acknowledge and accept these risks and release The Dapper Dog and its groomer(s) from liability to the extent permitted by law.
